Ambassadors
Do you remember how you felt the first time you walked into a church and didn’t know anyone? Better yet, do you remember how it felt when someone here came up to you, introduced him or herself, welcomed you and asked your name? That somebody was probably a Unity Ambassador.
You could make a wonderful difference in someone’s life by volunteering to be an Ambassador. You don’t need to be an expert on Unity principles to serve as an Ambassador, but just be willing to make a visitor feel welcome. Maybe show them to the bookstore or invite them to Fellowship Hall for coffee or goodies. If you feel a nudge from Spirit to become an Ambassador one Sunday a month, for 15 to 30 minutes, please contact Vaughn Delp-Smith or Peter Genereaux, Ambassador Coordinators.
Fellowship Ministry
Refreshments are provided after both services to encourage those attending Sunday services to join in social communion in the Fellowship Hall. There is a separate ministry team for the 9:00 and 11:00 services, and volunteers usually serve once a month. The 9:00 team prepares treats and drinks, the 11:00 team cleans up after Fellowship. Both teams greet people at the serving counter, and the most important part of the job is smiling and making everyone feel welcome and a part of the church community.
Flower Ministry
Those in the flower ministry purchase (and are reimbursed) and create the beautiful flower arrangements in the Sanctuary and lobby. There is training four times a year. Just call Jackie Bennett, Flower Ministry Coordinator, for more information.
Sound Techs
The Sound Technicians make sure equipment is working properly, coordinate special requirements for the Music and/or Choir Directors, record Sunday services, and take a head count of those attending services. Techs may be asked to provide services for special events and workshops. Training is provided. If this is something that gets your attention, call Jim Lewis, Sound Tech Coordinator.
Usher/Greeter Ministry
Greeters greet people as they arrive at the front door and make a connection with visitors. Ushers hand out bulletins and assist congregants when necessary, straighten hymnals, remove trash and leftover papers and bulletins after services. There are separate ministry teams for the 9:00 and 11:00 services, and volunteers usually serve once a month. You can get signed up by calling Randy Carpenter, Usher/Greeter Coordinator.
To volunteer for any of these ministry teams, or to get more information about any of Unity’s volunteer positions, please call Genna Herron, Share the Ministry Volunteer Coordinator, 928-925-7740, or email genna-unity@hotmail.com or fill out the form below.
