Adventures in Spirit

What is Adventures In Spirit (AIS)?

Is it just another class? What is required of me? Who leads the small groups? My life is busy and I already have many commitments. Is it necessary to attend a small group, or can I attend on Sunday morning?

Do any of these questions sound familiar? I know that they are questions that others have either spoken to me or I have asked myself. So, here are the answers to your questions.

Adventures In Spirit is a church-wide program that provides us all an opportunity to come together and learn from the materials and each other. It is a time when the energy can take on a new and exciting air.  The book is divided into chapters or subjects that are the focus for our lessons and discussions for the week. Each week the Sunday talk is focused on that week’s lesson, but is also given in a way that everyone, no matter their level of participation, may glean Truth that is applicable in their day-to-day life.

During this program, we train church members to facilitate small groups. These groups have between 6 and 12 people, are scheduled both day and evening, and most days of the week. If you would like to attend a group, there is a good chance there is one that will work for your schedule.

People who attend groups receive a booklet with questions on each week’s chapters and processes for taking the spiritual principle deeper into one’s experience. For many, the groups provide an opportunity for connection and community building, as much as learning more about the goodness of God and how we experience and express that goodness.

We live in a busy time. Our lives are moving faster than any generation before us, and that is all the more reason to take a time apart, settle down, and go within.

Adventures in Spirit also holds many opportunities for people to step forward and assist in bringing together a dynamic and fulfilling program. If you are such a person, please call call me. Committees are forming to take different aspects of this program and bring them together with new energy.

Life is not about doing the same thing over and over. This Adventures in Spirit program is an opportunity for creative energies to flow, and to bring together not only an intellectually stimulating book study, but also, an exciting and fun time of connecting with others.
