Happy New Year in 2012 to everyone!

Wow, it doesn’t seem possible that another year has come and gone. It was a great year for the Pastoral Care Team. We had some wonderful and uplifting meetings. Our annual Christmas Party was held at Jackie Bennett’s home and was hosted by Jackie and Rita Wuehrmann. There was lots of delicious food and fun gifts to enjoy.

We are praying and affirming that new members will join our Pastoral Care Team this year. We have monthly meetings on the last Tuesday of the month at 5:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. The meetings usually are over by 7 p.m., and we all leave feeling uplifted and blessed. Our meetings involve prayer and meditation followed by a discussion of business, as well as an educational session.

We have our annual Pastoral Care Team training in February or March, depending on Rev. Tom’s availability. We would be delighted to have anyone who is interested in becoming a member, to attend one of our meetings and see what it’s all about.

The requirements for becoming a Pastoral Care member are:
1. Be a member of Unity Church for 6 months (minimum).
2. Complete all required classes that may include but not be limited to:
- Prayer
- Pastoral Care skills (training done through Hospice, Prescott People Who Care, etc., will count towards Pastoral Care Team skills.)
- Prosperity
- Unity Principles
3. An individual may come as a guest to a meeting and may begin attending meetings upon fulfilling the membership requirements and completing at least one of the classes.

Until all classes are completed, the individual may participate in all activities except after Sunday service prayer and visitation as a Pastoral Care member-in-training. Anyone interested in joining may contact Bev Blevins or any other member of the Pastoral Care Team for further information.

Blessings to all,
Bev Blevins
