November-December 2010
We had two amazing local artists this month to help you with your holiday shopping!
Rowena Tank 928-899-3574; rowena@rowenaart.net
www.rowenaart.net
Arizona Artist, Rowena Tank, evolved as a Lampwork Bead Maker through the adoration of beads. Themes from Arizona are Rowena’s primary inspiration as a Jewelry Designer. Off-loom bead weaving provides Rowena the canvas to paint with her beads and with vintage buttons.
Rowena creates with recycled wine bottle glass or Italian glass and embellishes the beads using seed beads and her handspun fiber ‘Raggedy Ro’. Soy silk, bamboo, and wool yarn are also included in Rowena’s Fiber Art. Her Fiber Amulet Bags are a unique creation.
Lampwork Beads, jeweler and fiber, showing at Arts Prescott Gallery, Heart of Whiskey Row, Prescott

Mary Kaye O’Neill, Provocateur … of a prettier and more gentle world

www.thelaughingiraffe.com
Laughing Giraffe Jewelry and Wearable Art in Prescott, Arizona is as much about whimsy as it is fashion. I believe jewelry and clothes ought to reflect the personality of the person wearing them. In the Resource Center this month, I am featuring handpainted silk scarves. I hope my products will appeal to your nature.
So, what is my art about? It’s a celebration of the natural environment. I am inspired by natural textures found in nature, by line and by color. In my jewelry I use cast cholla and prickly pear cacti to create texture; I use river and ocean rocks as well as semi-precious stones. My fabrics of choice are natural: silk, cotton, bamboo.
I invite you to visit my Jewelry Gallery and Wearable Art pages, and visit often; I hope to have new items to view every few months.
Come see my art at Tis Art Center and Gallery, 105 S. Cortez Street, Prescott, AZ 86303, Phone: 928 775-0223
