This past November, Unity of Prescott’s bookstore moved from its original location into its new space right below the foyer at the bottom of the stairs. Our bookstore 
has blossomed in this expanded space and needed a new name to reflect this refreshing change and Unity’s support of individual spiritual journeys.
‘Awakening Thoughts Bookstore’ was the name that stood out among the numerous entries. Brenda Norris suggested this name, and it fits perfectly!
Here are my two book recommendations as possible companion guides for 2012 and beyond:
Jim Rosemergy’s book, The Third Coming, starts with a premise – that spiritual truths cannot be the sole claim of any single religion.
The author’s explorations led him to the ‘common ground’ that Buddha, Moses, Mohammed, and Jesus trod. And this ‘commonground’ is to be our ‘Second Coming’; not a literal return of a messiah, but an individual experience of a spiritual truth. From this point of view, the author challenges the reader to see the possibility and eventual reality of planetary wholeness, peace and joy as the inevitable The Third Coming.
This book caught my eye on the bookshelf: With Forgiveness – Are You Ready? written by Sheri Rosenthal and Susyn Reeve. What is forgiveness? We all know we are supposed to do it – but why is it so hard and seemingly unattainable? The authors suggest that forgiveness is not forgetting, nor is it making the other person’s actions acceptable. True forgiveness begins with our willingness to look inside ourselves, and identify the thoughts that we are having which are causing our pain and suffering. This book contains 52 powerful forgiveness lessons, exercises, practices and daily affirmations. With Forgiveness – Are You Ready? guides you in more deeply experiencing love, compassion, peace and happiness through the practice of forgiveness.
